More Resources for Residents and Families
The New York Office of the State Long Term Care Ombudsman has recently put together a Resource Center for residents, family members, ombudsmen and other professionals who support people living in long term care facilities. Books and videos are available for loan. Manuals and training materials are available for download. Selected web site resources are also identified and made available through quick links. Some materials are also available in languages other than English.

In addition to the New York Office of the State Long Term Care Ombudsman, there are a number of other government agencies and non-profit organizations dedicated to providing support to and protecting the interests of people living in long term care facilities. Their web sites provide information on many relevant topics.

If you live in New York State (or represent someone living in the state) you can also get help by calling the New York State Office for the Aging Senior Citizens' Help Line at 1-800-342-9871 between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM, Eastern Time.
